For Parents
Parents play a crucial role in supporting their children for many reasons:
1. Advocacy and encouragement: Parents can advocate for their children's needs and provide them with the necessary encouragement and motivation.
2. Reinforcement of skills at home: Parents can reinforce the executive function skills their children are learning in EF coaching sessions by implementing strategies and techniques at home. This consistency can help solidify the skills being developed and make them more applicable in daily life.
3. Creating a supportive environment: Parents can create a supportive and nurturing environment at home that fosters the development of executive function skills. By providing a space where their children feel safe to practice and apply these skills, parents can contribute to their growth and success.
4. Modelling behaviour: Parents serve as role models for their children and can demonstrate effective executive function skills in their own lives. By modelling behaviours such as organization, time management, problem-solving, and emotional regulation, parents can inspire and guide their children in developing these skills themselves.
5. Celebrating achievements and progress: Parents can celebrate their children's achievements and progress, reinforcing positive behaviour and boosting their confidence and motivation. Recognizing and acknowledging their efforts can encourage children to continue working towards their goals.
Through workshops and webinars conducted by Feel Good Factory, parents empower themselves with knowledge about their own executive function skills strengths and challenges and also learn how to support their child at home. -
